Senetek scientists collaborate with the UCI Department of Dermatology clinical research staff in consultation on research projects, development of Clinical Protocols, Phase I, II, and III Clinical Studies, testing for cosmetic and aesthetic qualities, data collection and analysis and final reporting of clinical results.
Clinical trials of Senetek’s lead compound in our cytokinin pipeline, Kinetin, were conducted by Dr. Gerald Weinstein and Dr. Jerry McCullough at UCI , using the same protocols used for the FDA New Drug Applications evaluation of Renova®, the only prescription drug approved for anti-aging in the U.S. The clinical trials of Pyratine-6™ and 4HBAP, our lead second generation cytokinins, were conducted using the same protocols. The UCI Dermatology Clinical Research Center (DCRC) conducts innovative studies dedicated to evaluating and improving novel therapeutic options for a variety of skin conditions. On-site individual and multi-center clinical trials are implemented for major pharmaceutical, as well as investigator initiated studies. The DCRC is actively involved in all phases of clinical testing including FDA approval of investigational drugs and lasers, new indications for drugs, over-the-counter products and cosmeceuticals. Previous studies have included atopic dermatitis, actinic keratosis, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia, acne vulgaris, photoaging, and acne rosacea. |
